HDX4 is again the by far fastest MPEG4 codec in a codec comparison. This time the famous German computer magazine "c't" has tested various codecs. Using e.g. a resolution of 352 x 192, here are the results:
HDX4: 202,3 fps*
Nero Digital MPEG4: 59 fps
3ivX: 44,3 fps
XviD: 35,4 fps
DivX Pro 6: 24,4 fps

A preview version of HDX4 becomes the fastest MPEG4 codec in a benchmark at doom9.org. The most important video codecs deliver the following speed benchmark values at highest quality setting:
HDX4: 58.99 fps*
XviD: 50.12 fps
RealVideo10 23.55 fps
WMV9 21.69 fps
DivX 19.90 fps
RealVideo, WMV9 and DivX fail to reach real-time processing speed. HDX4 delivers more than twice real-time speed at highest quality!
*"fps" means "frames per second"
