Logo Certification
Our HDX4 certification program for MPEG-4 compatible video players means two things: Safety for you, since any video that is created adhering to the certification guidelines will be 100% compatible with a certified player, and reliability for your customers, who can use our software to create an entire library of compatible videos without worrying about the mess of competing video formats vying for market dominance. But best of all, neither the logo nor the certification will result in you paying quota licenses!
You can apply for the following certifications
HDX4 Mobile
For this certification, we will accept devices which can play back AVI, MP4, 3GP, 3GPP or ASF files containing an MPEG-4 video stream as well as an MP3, AAC, G.726, ADPCM or AMR-NB audio stream. As for the maximums of the device, display resolution should be limited to 640x480 pixels, bit rate should be limited to 768 kbps, and the total number of macro blocks per second should not exceed 9,900 blocks per second. These requirements apply to devices such as handhelds, PDAs, mobile phones, PMPs, and GPS navigation systems.
HDX4 Home
For this certification, we will accept devices which allow playback of AVI or MP4 files containing an MPEG-4 video stream and an MP3, AAC, or AC3 audio steam. The display resolution should be limited to a maximum of 720x576 pixels, the bit rate to 4,000 kbps and the total number of macro blocks per second should not exceed 40,000 blocks per second. One sequential B-Frame is allowed in the video stream. These requirements apply to devices such as MPEG-4 enabled DVD players, hard-disk-based multimedia players, game consoles, network-based players, streaming clients and set-top boxes.
HDX4 High Definition
For this certification, we will accept devices which support the playback of AVI or MP4 files containing an MPEG-4 video stream and one or more MP3, AAC or AC3 audio streams. The display resolution should not exceed 1920x1080 pixels, the bit rate should be limited to 8,000 kbps, and the total number of macro blocks per second should not exceed 108,000 blocks per second. One sequential B-Frame is allowed in the video stream.
All logo certifications include free support for your device in our video creation software "HDX4 Movie Creator". This enables your customers to create video files which are perfectly in tune with your certified device, even if you choose not to order an OEM version of the software to bundle with your product. In addition, you are entitled to the privilege of bundling a trial version of our software with your certified player. This is a boon to both you and your customers, as it will mark an end to customer complaints regarding playback issues due to a third-party program which may either be incompatible with your device, or worse yet, is simply of inferior quality.
